Three-Stage Filtration Removes Contaminants
The Watts UF-3 filters drinking water in three stages. Once the system is connected, water from the tap passes through a five-micron sediment filter, followed by a heavy-duty one-micron carbon block filter that reduces lead and chemicals.
The third stage of filtration involves a state-of-the-art UF Hollow Fiber Technology membrane. Hollow Fiber Technology uses standard home water pressure to push water through a semi-permeable membrane. Suspended particles and materials of high molecular weight are unable to pass through the 0.2 micron UF membrane, leaving you with only fresh clean water and dissolved minerals.
This specially formulated filtration process is capable of reducing cryptosporidia, giardia, entamoeba, and toxoplasma, as well as a long list of chemicals–from herbicides and pesticides to disinfection byproducts and gas additives.

Product Description
The RO Pure Reverse Osmosis System consists of four separate stages. Stage #1 – Five Micron Sediment Pre-Filter that traps particulate matter like dirt, rust, and silt that will affect the taste and appearance of your water. Stage #2 – Five Micron Carbon Block Pre-Filter that helps ensure a greater reduction of chlorine and other materials that cause bad taste and odors. (The first two stages are called Pre-Filters because they filter in front of the Reverse Osmosis Membrane). Stage #3 – The 50 GPD Membrane is the heart of the Reverse Osmosis System. This semi-permeable membrane will effectively reduce TDS (total dissolved solids), Sodium and a wide range of contaminants such as Lead, Percolate, Chromium, Copper and Radium. It will also remove over 99.95% cysts such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Stage #4 – Five Micron Carbon Post-Filter (105341) which is used as a final polishing filter. It is important that this system is properly installed and maintained with an incoming water pressure of 40 to 80 psi for it to operate as designed. The filtered water passes through the membrane and enters the storage tank. When you’re ready for a taste, it will leave the storage tank and pass through the fourth stage on its way up to the faucet. The end result? Crystal clear, high quality, and great tasting water! You don’t need to turn off the water supply to the system and there’s no waiting for the system to depressurize. Each individually contained filter just snaps into place, including the membrane. In order to maintain your system in its top performance it is recommended to change out both the Sediment and Carbon Pre-Filters every 6 months, the Carbon Post-Filter every year and the Membrane every 2 to 5 years depending on the quality of your incoming water supply.
