3M PPS Midi Lids and Liners Kit contains 50 disposable lids, 50 disposable liners and 20 sealing plugs for use with the original PPS spray gun system, an all-in-one solution for measuring, mixing, filtering and spraying paint materials.  Unlike conventional aluminium or other metal paint cup systems, with PPS you don’t have to mix paint in extra cups and filter it into a paint reservoir, so you waste less paint. Simply place a liner in the reusable paint cup,  mix the paint, snap on the lid, attach the locking collar and you’re ready to spray. With a fresh lid and liner for each mix, there’s less risk of outside contamination. 3M PPS Midi Kit contains 50 disposable Lids with pre-welded micron filters for straining paint, 50 disposable Liners, and 20 sealing plugs for use with the 3M Paint Preparation System (PPS). The kit will either contain 125 micron filters which are often recommended for water-borne paint materials; or 200 micron filters for traditional solvent-based paint materials. Always reference the Paint Manufacturer to ensure the recommended filter to strain the paint material. The PPS kit allows technicians to mix graduated measurements of up to 13.5 fluid oz (400 mL) when used with a mix ratio film insert or by weight scale. Mix ratio film inserts sold separately. Midi Size PPSTM is ideal for 2-panel repairs. Use this kit with 3M Midi Size Cup and Collar part number 16122.

PPS enables the Painter the ability to spray consistently 90 degree to the part, no matter the part orientation (even upside down). This not only improves consistent material transfer, which improves quality, but also reduces paint overspray, and improves paint consumption. When done spraying, simply throw away the disposable lid and liner. PPS eliminates the need to clean out the Paint Reservoir associated with conventional paint cup systems. PPS eliminates the need for traditional mixing cups and filters. Conventional Paint Cup Systems, a Painter needs to mix paint materials in a separate cup, then transfer (or strain) the paint through a filter into a paint reservoir. Every time the Painter transfers paint material, there is waste associated in the mixing cup and filter. With PPS, place PPS’s disposable liner within the re-usable PPS Cup. Then simply mix the paint material in PPS’s disposable liner, snap-in place the disposable lid (with the pre-welded-in filter), and attach the locking collar to complete the PPS System and you are ready to spray.

After spraying the Painter has a choice of using a sealing plug to temporary store non-catalyzed paint materials or clean-up. Since the liner, lid and built-in filter are all disposable, leaving only the adapter and spray gun to be cleaned. Simply throw the disposable lid and liner in the appropriate approved waste containers specified by the Paint Manufacturers (or local government requirements) and use a small amount of solvent required for cleaning the spray gun and the PPS adapter. It is possible to clean your paint gun with as little as 3 fluid ounces (90mL) of solvent. With this disposable paint system, shops are often experiencing a 70 percent reduction in cleaning solvents, which also means cleaning solvent savings, solvent disposal savings, and less operator exposure to solvents, along with a reduction in VOCs.

Specifically designed PPS stainless steel metal adapters allow painters to use the PPS system with virtually any spray gun. Painters have also the choice to use no adapters by using 3M HG series Accuspray spray guns and further reducing cleaning solvent usuage, while improving productivity.
